Add Layers

A map consists of one or more layers. In the Geoide Viewer layers are shown in the legend. You can select or deselect layers in the legend. The layer information is retrieved by a service. Depending on the service, it is a WMS-layer or a Geoide Service layer.
Steps: add new layer
With these steps, you can add layers to a map.
1. Start the Geoide Author.
2. Go to the tab Contexts & Maps, select the context, and then the map you want to add the layer to.
3. Select the folder Layers. The buttons for adding layers appear under the tree.
4. To add a new layer click on Layer +. The New Layer window opens.
5. You can specify the layer properties.

6. Save the changes by clicking on Save at the bottom of the screen of the Geoide Author.
The layer will appear in the Geoide Viewer after 'refresh' of your browser.
Steps: add existing layer
Use the following steps to add a layer that is already present (used or not used in a context) in the Geoide Author.
1. Start the Geoide Author
2. Go to the tab Contexts & Maps, select the context, and then select the map you want to add the layer to.
3. Select the folder Layers. The buttons for adding layers appear under the tree.
4. To add an existing layer, click on Existing layer +.
5. Click on the small arrow in the field Layer. You can now select the layer from all available layers in the Geoide Author.
6. Confirm the adding of the layer by clicking on OK.
7. You can make the layer unique by giving it a unique name. Click on the layer in the tree and change the name of the layer.
8. Save changes by clicking on Save at the bottom of the screen of the Geoide Author.
The layer will appear in the Geoide Viewer after 'refresh' of your browser.
