Maps are part of a context (collection of maps). A map consists of one or more layers (and/or group layer). By configuring maps you can determine the following:

  • The extent of the map and underlying layers;
  • Which predefined scales should be available in the Geoide Viewer for zooming and printing;
  • Which coordinate systems can be applied;
  • Whether redlining can be used in the map. If redlining is activated, you can take notes on the map, without affecting the map. This is similar to taking notes on a transparent sheet that lies on a physical map. While printing, the notes are printed with the map.

These steps describe the configuration of maps.
