Introduction

Geoide has the ability to edit layers (editing) in the Geoide Viewer. The user can add points, lines and/or polygons (areas) to the layer through the Geoide Viewer . The edit functionality is only possible on Geodie Service layers and only when the layers are marked to be editable in the Geoide Author.

'Editing' in the Geoide Viewer is adding and/or modifying geometries in combination with adding/modifying information about the object. This information appears in the 'Attribute Info' pop-up window in the Geoide Viewer.

For system managers: the WFS should be configured in such a way that insert, edit and delete actions
are accepted for the involved Feature Type.

Steps: configuring the layer

1. Start the Geoide Author

2. Click on the tree of the layer where editing should be made possible. Note that the layer is a Geoide Service layer.

3. Select to be modified (Selectable is automatically checked). This specifies that the objects in the layer are editable with the 'edit' functions of the Geoide Viewer. Additional input fields are then displayed.

4. Enter the properties for the editable layer.

> Help with Layer properties.

5. Click on Save at the bottom of the screen of the Geoide Author.

The layer is now accessable for editing and making selections. The Geoide Viewer uses these functions through the 'editing' and 'selection' buttons.
