Geoide application means a furnished Geoide “Viewer”,in which digital maps can be presented. Each application have specific functions, such as "search in the map”, “information retrieval in the map” and “editing” '(changing) in the map. A sample application is included with the software.

If you want to start a new application from the beginning you have to follow the following procedure:

Workflow

1. Data preparation

First you will need to have data available in GIS databases or files, from which services can read. How to collect data for digital maps is not explained here. Here we presume that data is available in databases or files.

2. Configuring Services

If you are already have WMS- and/or WFS-services, you can directly use these services in configuring the Geoide Viewer(step 3). Do you only have data in databases or you want to make use of Geoide Services(eg. for using the editing functionality), then first you must configure the WMS or Geoide Service. The Geoide Services ensures that data is available as vector data in the Geoide Viewer. Configuring services is done using OpenJUMP.

3. Configuring the Geoide Viewer with the Geoide Author

This step determines which map layers are displayed, which features ('buttons') should be available in the Geoide Viewer and the lay-out of the GeoideViewer. Configuring the Geoide Vieweris done using the Geoide Author.
