Required fields are marked with a red asterisk.
Changes are only stored on the server after clicking on Save at the bottom of the Geoide Author.
- Name: Here enter the name of the new map. This name should be unique within the Geoide Author.
- Owner:the login name is automatically entered as "owner" of the new map. It cannot be changed.
- Scope: In this field you can choose between 'private' and 'public'. See Scope (public/private)
- Language/Title: Here you enter the title of the map. You can specify the title in English(en), Dutch (nl) and German (de). The language setting of your browser determines in which language the title is displayed. The title appears in the legend of the map and the tree of the Author. The title does not need to be unique.
- Initial extent: Specifies the cutout of the map as displayed after starting the Geoide Viewer. The Min X, Min Y and Max X, Max Y are respectively the coordinates of the lower left corner and right corner of the clip. Make sure you specify the coordinates according to the field SRS's (later in the form) first coordinate system.
- Redlining: Specifies whether redlining should be in the map. If you check this option, you must also add "edit" buttons on the Geoide Viewer.
- > Help with Configure redlining
- All visible layers: If you check this option, the layers which fall outside a certain scale at a certain zoom level in the Geoide Viewer will shown in grey in the legend. Layers that are outside the current scale are default not shown in the legend.
- Snap scale: check this option to snap fixed scale steps when using the zoomslider, zoom buttons or zoombox. This is in particular useful in case of a tile service. Fixed predefined scale steps will then give the best quality map image in the viewer. These predefined scale steps can be copied from the server (see below at Tiling server).
- Maximum size: Here you indicate the maximum range of the map. The (Min X, Min Y) and (Max X and Max Y). The (Min X, Min Y) and (Max X and Max Y) are respectively the coordinates of the lower left corner and right corner of the range. Make sure you specify the coordinates according to the field SRS's (later in the form) from the first coordinate system.
- Scale: Here you can fill at what scale-range the map can be displayed. Consequently, one can zoom in till the (Min)and zoom out till the (Max) in the Geoide Viewer and cannot zoom in or out beyond that scale-range. If the fields are empty, then the zooming -in and out- is "unlimited" -is beyond the reach of the map. Fill this field without '1:'. In the Zoom you can specify what scale to use for zooming to a point or location in the map (eg when looking for an address in the map).
- Scales: Here you can choose and specify scaling (zoom levels) to be selected for displaying the map. The scales are selected in the Geoide Viewer in a "selection box" in the right-bottom corner of the screen. The available scales are also important for printing. In the print template, a map is printed on a selected scale. Select a scale and click on the single arrow to add (to the left column) or remove it from the list (to the right column).
- Tiling server: When using a tiling server, and after adding this server at the tab servers, then you can copy the predefined scales from the server and tiling matrix. Choose the tiling server and matrix. Click on Copy scales. The scales appear on the left side in the field Scales.
- SRS's: Specifies the coordinate system whereby map information is displayed. The different SRS are visible in a list box at the right-bottom corner in the Geoide Viewer. To add a SRS to a map, select the SRS and click on the single arrow to add (to the left column) or remove from the list (to the right column). For example, EPSG:28992 is the Amersfoort/RD.
- Stamp URL: You can use a "brand" on the the map. It is a brand image in the lower left corner of the map. Enter the URL of the brand. The most common formats are accepted.
