Introduction

Required fields are marked with a red asterisk.

Changes are only stored on the server after clicking on Save at the bottom of the Geoide Author.

Right of the screen the created layout of the template is shown schematically. Such a lay-out may look like:

The shaded border indicates the area which is not printable (set at Margin).

Properties

Name. Enter the name of the template. This name should be unique because it is used for identification on the server.

Title. Enter the title of the template. You can specify the title in English (en), Dutch (nl) and German (de). The title appears in the tree of the Geoide Author and Viewer and is used in the Geoide Author to refer to the appropriate template.

Owner. The login name is automatically entered as "owner" of the new template. You cannot change it.

Scope. In this field you can choose between "private" and "public". See Scope (public/private)

Paper. Here you can indicate the paper size and orientation. You can choose between paper sizes A4 (210x297 mm) and A3 (297x420 mm) and between the orientations portrait and landscape. Note that the print size and orientation settings of your printer match those of the template.

Margins. You can specify which part of the paper can be used for printing using the margins. For printers that cannot print borderless the margin should be at least as wide as that of your printer.

Elements

You can use the following elements for composing your print template.

Map

Check Border to provide the map print with a border.

Enter the Position and Dimensions of the map. These fields are required.

If you check Redlining, then notes, made on a special transparent "redlining" layer, will be printed together with the map.

Title

Title in template: Specify whether a title of the map is printed. You can provide the title with a framework.

Specify position and size (Dimension).

Enter a Title and Subtitle. These titles will appear as default titles in the printer dialog of the Geoide Viewer. You can adjust these titles later in the Geoide Viewer.

You can specify the Font (only available fonts) and font Size.

Legend

You can add a Legend to the template. The legend may be provided with a Border.

You can choose to print the Legend on a separate page.

The legend can be loaded as a file. You can enter the Url of this file here. If you do not enter a Url,then the legend is printed from the Geoide Viewer as "screenshot". In that case the dimensions cannot be specified.

Fill in the Position and Dimensions (if applicable).

You cann uncheck the legend later in the printer dialog of the Geoide Viewer.

Overview

You can include the overview in the template. The overview is the map in the top right corner of the Geoide Viewer.

You can provide the overview with a border.

Specify Position and Dimensions here.

You can uncheck the overview later in the printer dialog of the Geoide Viewer.

Logo

You can include a Logo (jpeg, bmp, png, poison, etc.) in the template.

You can provide the logo with a Border.

Enter the Url of the logo.

Specify the Position and Dimensions.

North Arrow

You can include a North arrow (jpeg, bmp, png, poison, etc.) in the template.

Specify the Position and Dimensions.

Enter the Url of the north arrow.

The north arrow can later be unchecked in the printer dialog of the Geoide Viewer.

Scale bar

You can add a Scale bar to the template.

Enter the Position and Dimensions.

The scale can later be unchecked in the printer dialog of the client.

Remarks

You can add Remark/additional info in the template.

You can provide this text box with a Border.

Enter the Position and Dimensions of the box.

Enter the Text. This text can later be altered in the printer dialog of the Geoide Viewer.

Copyright

You can include a Copyright mention in the template.

You can provide this box with a Border.

Enter the Position and Dimensions of the box. Tip: use 'ALT+0169' for the copyright symbol ©.

Identify

If you check Identify in template, then the visible Attribute Info pop-up windows from the Geoide Viewer will be printed together with the map.
