Besides the possibility of maptips, the Geoide Viewer offers three options for displaying information on maps.

Image: PopupInfoButton.png PopupInfoButton: Pop-Up: Getting information per layer. By clicking on an object, a pop-up information window appears from the corresponding table. Only objects of the upper layer in the Geoide Viewer can be clicked.

Image: FeatureInfoButton.png FeatureInfoButton: Pop-Up: Information retrieval for all layers. All layers are searched for information on the spot where the map is clicked. A pop-up window appears with information from the associated tables, classified by layer.

Image: WebInfoButton.png WebInfoButton: Information retrieval by URL (hyperlink). Information window pops out as a new browser window with the URL of the clicked object. The URL can refer to any by the user indicated location.

The corresponding buttons are only applicable to Geoide Service layers. Getting information from a WMS layer is only possible by creating a Maptip.

Steps

1. Determine whether the information is accessible via the table of the database or via a URL. If the information is available via a URL, the method "Getting information via URL" is eligible. If the information is available via the table, you can choose Pop-ups:

Pop-Up: Information retrieval by layer
Pop-Up: Information retrieval from all layers
Information request via Url

2. Go to How to customize the lay-out of the Geoide Viewer for help in adding the button to the layout of the Geoide Viewer.
